Technical issue forces Japan's ANA to cancel dozens of domestic flights

TOKYO (AP) -- Japan's All Nippon Airways Co. repaired a computer glitch that affected its check-in systems for domestic flights Sunday, causing dozens to be delayed or cancelled, a company spokeswoman said.

Japan's No. 2 air carrier was forced to cancel 122 domestic flights because of the glitch, affecting around 19,500 people, ANA spokeswoman Nana Kon said. Another 176 flights were delayed, affecting another 22,400 people, she said.

The carrier's operations at Tokyo's Haneda Airport were most severely affected, though flights from and between regional airports also experienced problems due to the glitch, Kon said.

The company expected to resume normal operations at Haneda after 6 p.m. (0900 GMT), she added.

ANA's international flights were unaffected by the glitch, the cause of which was under investigation, she said.

Haneda Airport is used mainly for domestic flights.
